A Little About Me
I love to have long interesting conversations with anyone about love, life, personal relationships, politics, or anything elsethat comes to mind and I only talk straight talk. It is better to have loved and lost, than having never been loved at all. And one more...A wet bird never flies at night.

Hobbies and Interests
My hobbies are painting, sketching and photography Also like to do quick sketches of people without them being aware of it,and then present it to them to put a smile on their face. To be on the water in a boat just before sundown when everthing seems calm and peaceful, just drifting, listening to nice soft music and the sounds of nature around me.

Hi All, My name is Ron and I grew up on the near north side of Chicago and lived there for 19 years.

The first thing I remember is seeing is nothing but darkness and I was thrashing my arms around yelling in a muffled tone... I want more womb, gimmie more womb! Then I was born into this glorious world. The year was 1935.
As I matured to the age of four, all I wanted was cap pistols and I had many but lost them in a house fire when I was about 9 years old. By this time I was starting to look at girls and no longer played cowboys and indians. The next interest in guns came to me when I spotted the Red Ryder Carbine in a comic book. I answer a advertisement
which stated that all I would have to do is sell 100 packs of garden seeds at 5 cents each, mail the money to the seed company and they would send me the Red Ryder Carbine ! WOW ! Sounds simple enough, right? Did you ever try to sell garden seeds
in a asphalt jungle? You won't find many farmers in the inner city of Chicago, maybe a few flower boxes and a few homes that still had a back yard that could catch the sun 3 hours per day, but not much more. So it took me many months to sell those seeds but I finally got my Red Ryder Carbine and I still have it to this day.
And now a little about me... Married twice, divorced twice... like I always said... I never knew what happiness was until I got married.. but then it was too late.
I was about to be drafted into the army in 1958 and decided to join the Marine Air Reserves as by this time I had already started my career and it was during a temporary peace time anyway, so I saw no reason to go to enlist full time. Little did I know that when the Cuban Missle Crisis arose, it would go down in history that I single handedly saved our nation from doom ! Yes! This is true, when the Russians found out that I was in the Marines they backed off and removed the missles from Cuba. That's why we are all  here today.
I earned my sharpshooters medal in bootcamp and I'm sure it was due to all my practice killing sewer rats with my BB-gun in the back allys of Chicago. I also had a
little practice with my grandfathers Winchester 22 pump up in northern Wisconsin .
From 1946 to 1986 my collection remained at one BB gun and at that time I was working for a sporting goods chain and got to be close friends with the gun buyer
for the firm. He gave me my second gun which was the 1986 model 25th anniversary model pump gun. This is when I decided to start collecting BB-guns.
I made some very good buys at estate auctions, flea markets, antique shops and garage sales but then things turned bad when I started to deal on Ebay. One exception, I like the Buck Jones I bid on, even though I may have paid the guy $70 bucks too much for it. I never sell guns, I bought them to keep, love and cherish till death do us part. My nephew has his eyes on my collection, so ever time he makes a pot of coffee, I always wait until he drinks first.
I love history and Americana, so I have collected old wooden wall phones, candle stick phones, have a Edison Fireside Cylinder Gramaphone player, old kerosine lamps, letter scales, a Spitune or Garboone, and a lot of odds and ends from the early 1920's to 1940's. as well as  WWI & WWII photos and a small firearm collection.
I love restoring old crap and bringing things back to life again.
Hope some day to get together with a few of you guys in the future and trade stories..
in the mean time... Don't Tread On Me! I'll shoot your eye out if you do.
Cyron.. you can call me Ron, or Don , or Ray but never call me Gay or I'll shoot both eyes out.
Dah Dah Di Dat's all Folks !

Ron joined AirgunsUSA on January 27, 2003.

Ron became the first member (on August 12, 2003) of the Active Members Club when he helped to form it, he played a very important part in establishing what we have today on AirgunsUSA and on the AMC as well as Our Consitution.

Ron was elected by the members of the AMC as AirgunsUSA's First Member of the Year in 2004.

He was appointed and accepted the duties as Assistant Manager/Vice President of AirgunsUSA until he resigned his commission due to his health in 2005, however he still continued to assist when he was needed or could.

I know we will all miss him, I know I will, even though we never met face to face, we had long talks on MSN Messenger and on the telephone as well as 1000's of e-mails back & forth.  He was a true friend to me & to our organization.

Joe
