The Management of AIRGUNSUSA and of the ACTIVE MEMBERS CLUB have always tried to do what is best for the members as a whole. Our main goal is to attract new members who we hoped would participate and support our organization by making an effert to provide and contribute these same type of substantial information that is available on our menu, which covers many categories and has mainly been set up by the Managers and a few other members, but many members never posted anything.
We mainly wanted to serve Collectors, so we decided not to allow Professional Dealers into the Active Members Club. We felt that Dealers were just into airguns for one reason and only one reason and that was to make a profit and to serve themselves and not the collector. We still believe that.
We also understand that many Collectors sell & trade guns from time to time for various reasons. They love the hobby and they enjoy getting together with fellow collectors exchanging ideas, viewpoints, data, parts, helpful tips, etc. and etc. And we welcome them into the AMC only after they have shown us that they really want to be a part of this group by meeting our requirements. Many members of AIRGUNSUSA have done this. Many have not. Those who are still in the AIRGUNSUSA site can remain there as they are somewhat active.. but those who just ask a question and never post anything after we provide them with answers to their questions, will be removed from the site after a two month period of not posting anything beneficial . We have to monitor every member and they only take up space.
We have not in the past given the membership a clear understanding of what a Dealer is and many of you are starting to feel that you may fall into this category. You are not.
A DEALER IS A PROFESSIONAL DEALER WHO ONLY SELLS GUNS TO MAKE A PROFIT
AND HE MAY HAVE OR MAY NOT HAVE HIS OWN COLLECTION.
A COLLECTOR IS A PERSON WHO COLLECTS GUNS AND MAY SELL OR TRADE GUNS WITH OTHER COLLECTORS FOR VARIOUS REASONS, OR PROVIDE SERVICES WHICH IS BENEFICIAL TO OTHER MEMBER COLLECTORS.
Because in many cases we cannot tell the difference of one from the other, we will NOW ACCEPT ALL COLLECTORS OF ALL STAGES into the AMC site that first meets our requirements and request to join the AMC . Your request will be considered at our next managers meeting and you will be notified by one of the managers, about your approval. If the managers feel you are not ready to be accepted into the AMC, one of the managers will notify you by private email, explaining why you were not accepted, with recommendations to help you get accepted. After a 30 day period has passed, with no attempt on your part to follow our recommendations, the managers reserve the duty and right, to no longer consider you for the AMC and may remove you from our membership altogether without notice.
Let it be know to all, that the managers will monitor the performance of all members and if they find indications that any member is not supporting either site in good faith, or if they are only here for their own personal gain or agenda, we will review the members performance on a case by case basis and consider what actions shall be taken against that member, if any. If any member feels that another member has wronged them in any way regarding the trading or buying of merchandise, it should be reported to the managers so they can investigate the issue. If any Member is unhappy with the rules or regulations set forth by the Managers, we urge you to do it by private email to one of the managers rather than posting complaints or suggestions on the messenger board . Your email will be reviewed by the Managers and taken into consideration.
Due to this new policy "Life Time Membership", will no longer be assigned to new members of the AMC, present members will still maintain the status as "Life Time Members", provided they stay active & maintain the spirit of the ACTIVE MEMBERS CLUB.
