Knowledge of the soul is critical to self awareness.

Why?

The soul is that part of the universal whole, on which is formed our individual personality. It is the mirror image within us, of the whole of creation and the creating power itself.

This does not mean we are Gods or Goddesses, but that we have the ability to use our creative instincts, either individually or collectively to create, re-create or sustain creation.

Loosing sight of the soul leads to inner blindness which is self disruptive, destructive even, quite apart from becoming isolated and introvert.

Another way of looking at this, is that a soul that is open and aware of other souls, is able to appreciate the creative input or output of others, thus is open to learning and wisdom.

To have an open, aware soul nature is to experience the whole life, not just the material!
