  The most important thing to realise about all crystaline structures, is that they all imitate the same shape as the atoms they are formed from. Every crystal has a signature pattern and shape,... well families of crystals have. It's a bit like children looking like their parents in some way.

(Even if they don't want to!)

  The most plentiful basic mineral on the planet here is actually Quartz. Quartz is formed into many different types, depending on the traces of other elements around as the structure forms over time, these influences might alter quite significantly and hence the colours and density of the mass may change quite dramatically in a single mass or even a single crystal. One particular crystal form that shows such changes is Flourite, it has many shades and colour combinations that tell of the turbulent creation of this world. It is also a very mutable structure. Mutable? Well yes, it can have many different uses for an empath or a telepath and for that reason it is one I find very beautiful.

  It has been said that scientifically, there can be no proof of crystals being of any benefit to the human body or mind. Well, that sort of flies in the face of other science that actually use Quartz to make accurate clocks, (the computer you are using has quartz-crystal clock in it!) and can produce enough energy to make sounds or in the case of a piezo crystal, to produce a spark. Most crystaline structures have a "piezo" characterisic of some sort and these are used in electronic devices for many purposes. The one I use to destroy the "mythology" of what I refer to as "Crystal Science" is known as the "Hall Effect" transistor. This handy little device is a silicon transistor that is sensitive to magnetic fields and electrical current flowing OUTSIDE it. It is used in many things like car engine timing, electronic compasses, medical scanners and machine tools,..

"..But they have to sense really tiny amounts of the earth's magnetic field don't they?"
 Er,.. yup, and not only are they used on earth either, these tiny little bits of silicon also guide our space vehicles, the long-distance probes to the outer reaches of the solar system too. Empaths, and that means all of us to a greater or lesser degree, have the ability to sense similar minute changes in various fields of energy, both living and what I call static, (material stuff) so it follows that crystaline structures that also have various sensitivity to energies will effectively "fine-tune" our environment or our own nervous energy which is quite simply, electric current in the nerves.

  I find there is a definite link between colour and crystal interpretations, the colours of crystals indicate the trace elements that define their properties and those same colours when viewed in the light, alter the light energy that reaches the retina of the eye, which is without a rival as the most complex and amazing nerve receptor in the whole of the body.

  The use or influence of various crystals may be, up to a point, common to most people, but as every person is unquestionably a unique being, then it follows that each of us will experience sometimes quite different things from certain crystal elements.

  Here we invite your comments and questions, viewpoints and perceptions;  for it is by sharing our experience that we find a greater understanding of this forgotten  but fundemantal facet of our planet and our place on it. I (Dr Fubar) have a quite interesting collection of books on the chemistry of crystals that has given me a quite odd and sometimes radical approach to what is going on in the earth beneath our feet, crystals have far more effect on our lives and in fact all life than most of us might realise. There are simple scientific explanations for all of this that, far from "exploding the myth" actually show why these things actually work the way they do.
